Chai teas

– Comfortably warming for autumn and winter evenings

Our chai teas contain natural and warming spices such as cardamom, cinnamon, ginger, peppercorns, cloves, star anise and vanilla; they are therefore a blessing for long autumn and winter evenings in our latitudes.

Originally, the Indians mixed these spices only in black tea, called masala chai, which is traditionally drunk with lots of milk and sugar. In our range, however, we also offer a variety of herbal and rooibos teas that have the popular typical chai flavour but do not contain stimulants such as caffeine and can therefore be drunk later in the evening and by the whole family. These also taste best when you add milk and a little sugar.

The preparation of traditional chai is quite time-consuming because spices and tea have to be boiled together. Our blends, on the other hand, are always successful; you only need to pour boiling water over them and let them steep for 3-5 minutes. It is a good idea to make the infusion a little stronger (1-2 teaspoons per cup), then you get the maximum flavour, even if you add milk.

Our strong herbal/black tea blend Chai and the fine Rooibos Chai Zanzibar with pink pepper and finely tuned vanilla/cardamom flavour are particularly popular in our range.
