Tea and music, or music and tea?

It's well-known that tea has a reviving effect. Regardless of when and where you have your tea break, it helps you to forget the world around you for a moment, and to recharge your batteries.

Whether you're unwinding or socialising, the right music not only puts you in a relaxed frame of mind and lifts your spirits, but also increases the enjoyment. After all, isn't it almost a must-have to go with a lovely cup of tea? However, which music goes with tea and which tea goes with music?

Traditionally, drinking tea is associated with light, natural sounds, such as those produced by singing bowls to help you meditate. Chinese tea culture often features music played on a pipa, a four-string lute that produces soft tones.

These days, tea drinkers tend to prefer classical music, although big band, jazz, swing and easy listening pieces or lounge music are also very popular. However, tea is just as diverse as music, and vice versa. Everyone has their favourite pieces and habits. Why not try listening to your favourite song whilst drinking a cup of your favourite tea?

For a little inspiration, we recommend our Black Tea Honky Tonka. As the name suggests, it is closely associated with music. It lifts your spirits and even makes you want to get your own guitar out, or to put on an old school vinyl record, for example by the Beatles, Queen or the Stones. This tea gives you the feeling that you're not on your own. It has a sociable feel, even if you are drinking it without company. You can find many super playlists under "Teatime" on Spotify that are perfect for enjoying our Honky Tonka, or adding an extra-portion of rhythm to your next tea party.
